What Property Right?

Let me see if I get this straight. Comcast makes their customer pay an exorbitant monthly fee for a cable model which then then use to sell services to anyone passing by the customer's home and thus allowing third parties access to their local address so that if someone does something illegal on this address, say a criminal act, then the police are led back to the customer's home who had no knowledge but their house can now be confiscated by the police who can argue that the house was party to this illegal act!

Yes, that is what it appears to be. In Ars Technica they state:

A pair of Comcast customers has sued the company for turning Xfinity Internet routers into public Wi-Fi hotspots, saying Comcast’s actions pose risks to subscribers and are taken without seeking their authorization.

So, hypothetically, if some drug dealer sits out side the person's home, uses this address to do a drug deal, then the police could find the location, see its someone's house and under the Federal seizure provisions, seize the house and possessions, and let the person hang out to dry!

Thanks Comcast, I guess its great to have MSNBC on your side.
