What makes a communist? A Marxist? It should be simple, just read Marx, Lenin, even Stalin. What makes a Federalist? Read the Federalist Papers. They were well thought out arguments for what would become the Constitution.
Does Divine Right exist? Namely do Kings and Queens obtain their power from some Divine source and thus become above all. No if one reads Ockham. In a similar vein Ockham denies the same with the Pope. Ockham lays out the individual and individual rights.
Thomas Paine also wrote about the necessity to separate from the King, the relationship between the individual and the Government, and the rights of individuals. Paine wrote extensively and in a readable manner. Burke of course eschewed Paine but then Burke was a Royalist.
Now we come to MAGA, whatever that is. There is no Hamilton, no Paine, no Madison, to set forth the basis on what a MAGA adherent is. There is no Apostles Creed, no Nicea to provide a Council of participants to debate and reach a consensus. How does one intellectually identify a MAGA. What are their beliefs. We know their alleged opponents quite well. We know their beliefs. But what of the MAGA.
How could a MAGA and a Progressive debate without the equivalent of a well thought out Federalist Papers.
