NJ 2020 08 29

Given the relative similarity per day we will just present weekly updates even though we still monitor daily. Let us first start with towns:

The above shows an abrupt increase of 12 infected in just one day in the town. Most likely LTC and teenagers.
The town prevalence has bumped up due most likely to the teenage groupings and parties. It seems pandemic.
The above is the increase per town. Still the same towns as clusters.
The state has constant daily incidence
As does the county
Deaths seem stable
But the data is suspected to be totally flawed. Today we have again more LTC deaths than the total and there were two days with 256 death adjustments. These flaws continue but what can you expect from the Government. We have no raw data access and no way to target hot spots and behavior.

Prevalence state wide seems flat but very low.

NJ 2020 08 25

Not much. 4 deaths all in LTC. No deaths outside LTC. Makes o

ne wonder. Why are there any in LTC at this point. They should be hermetically sealed.

An Interesting Comparison

Using current CDC data and NJ current incidence the above is a graph showing annual incidence per 100,000 for New Jersey.

NJ 2020 08 22

Again not much new. It now looks like a low grade chronic infection with very low mortality rate. One must remember that Humans Adapt, that's why we have gotten this far as a species.

Not much new. There seems to be a running 300 new infections per day in the state. Again, why?

We Need to Replace the USPS

For centuries now we have looked at the Post Office as old reliable. Recently it has become predictably unreliable. They lose certified mail, car registrations, medical license registrations, critical documents, and the list goes on. Then they have the gall to claim it was your fault. Your house is 20 feet from the road, your mailbox is a centimeter off in specified height. It was cold, it was raining, the sun was in my eyes.

This is not a political problem. It is an attitude problem. They have a job, they cannot be sued, they cannot be fired and the longer they work the more they get in retirement. Yet work is not what they seem to do.

We are told by politicians that they are perfect, they track our mail, they are efficient and other such great praises. However the fact is they are on the verge of collapse, and their gross negligence and incompetence may bring us all down with them.

No Postmaster General can make any difference. The underlying workforce just does not care and there can be no consequences. Perhaps selling of the Post Office would be a good idea. Think Amazon?

NJ 2020 08 20

Again not much new. But the low level on ongoing incidence is interesting.

Again not much but a steady low consistent rate. Why? No model predicts this. Look at Morris, it just simmers at a low per day rate.

USPS Delays?

The Hill has a weepy tale of a Texas man not getting his medicine because of

In an interview ... said he hoped to receive his medication Monday and noted that he had never experienced an inability to receive the drugs from the post office if he was in possession of a tracking number. "There have been a few times in which it’s taken a week, week and a half, two weeks, but this is the first time I actually ran out and checking with the post office didn't do much good, even though I had a tracking number on it,” ... Because of the delays, ...he has gone without the medicine for a week and has had to rely on over-the-counter solutions from local drugstores. The Postal Service blamed delays on the coronavirus pandemic as well as years-old financial problems in a lengthy statement obtained by the news station.

Well here in New Jersey you can track your package. It gets to the Post Office, it is Out for Delivery, then back to the PO and you must retrieve it.  This is not a virus problem, it is not an equipment problem, it is a problem of management and human gross negligence. The Carriers REFUSE to deliver. The last mile is the weakest link. I suspect the Hill tale above was configured to tell a tale they wanted to tell. In reality, truth be told, you have a grossly incompetent Government organization playing with people's lives to get a few more dollars.

Now that we can track things, through Amazon, USPS etc we can see what is really happening. Namely we have people who get paid by the taxpayers and refuse to do their job.

Think Medicare for All!

16 Hours with Microsoft: The Belly of the Inferno

It started a day ago. I got the notice that my two machines were ready for upgrading W10. So stop all you are doing and start the process. My main machine takes about six hours. From the moment you say begin to the moment when you smile and have is working again, you sit and watch, like paint drying, hoping the morons at Microsoft have not released another one of their previous terrors which took over several of my machines a few releases back.

Then I had the bright idea. I would buy an update to Visio on an old machine. It is my machine I use when going to New Hampshire. It worked fine but the Visio which I use a lot was circa 2007 and ran like a dog. So began my journey into Hell, Microsoft Hell. After three hours I had managed to pay the exorbitant amount and it was loaded. Then I noted that in the process of loading it removed all my Office programs, Word, Excel etc. Gone! Lost! Destroyed. Now what.

Bright idea number one was to load an old version of Office from an XP. Bad idea. It was free but a mess. Oh well, back to Microsoft and download Office 2019. Not that 365 thing which costs a fortune. Pay another fee and try this down load about six times until it works. Total time, seven hours! I may be getting out of the Inferno, I prayed, I prayed a lot, you see when dealing with Microsoft prayer is your only outlet, only God can get it to work.

Finally after a cumulative of 16 hours in Hell I can return to my desk and get some work done.

You see, the characters at Microsoft in my opinion and in my experience are near to the devil incarnate. Nothing is simple and directions are written in some extraterrestrial syntax.

Oh yes, the motto on the Microsoft web site should follow Dante, "Abandon all hope ye who enter".

This is written on Google. Let's hope they never hire a Microsoft character. Oh and yes, I hear the Microsoft characters want to tell us how to take care of ourselves. I would be very wary, or start praying a lot!

NJ 2020 08 15

Halfway through August and frankly concerns about increased incidence. Saw large groups in Lake Hapatcong and can be certain there will be further upticks.

First county and town. Town is exploding and seems politicos are out to lunch. Not a surprise. We have had large groups and gatherings. Two weeks ago St Elizabeth's graduation and resulting parties guaranteed a mini pandemic.

You can see this with the town. We are back to early May! Is anyone watching?
The chart below shows the growth for some key towns Florham Parke is exploding!
State just bumble along
County overall is not bad but the vacations and crowds will result in explosion.
Frankly deaths are not bad. I guess they got most of the LTC.
