The Collapse of MIT?

 The MIT News is a rather profligate presenter of politically "perfect" positions. The one noted here is telling of the collapse of a once great institution. They have gone from adults working to save humanity from dictators to immature childish clans where their contribution to humanity are dolls in pink! And the current President of the institution conforms totally with the absurdity! Pity, it was once a world class institution.

What Value the Vaccine?

 The WHO lists the significant virus variants at large. They are:

XBB.1.15 and EG.5. EG.5 is the most recent and they state that it is a highly mutated and recombined virus spike. So what does that mean?

Simple, the spike attached to the ACE II receptor. Now there are about 140 variations of that receptor, most very close. 

But the virus spike has mutated so many times that the non-mutating receptor most likely does not match!

Of course neither the CDC nor NIH have a clue, nor are they even examining this issue.

Just pump out vaccine to block the new variants even though they may never really cause a problem!

I'm Back!

 It looks like we have the virus returning. As Nature notes:

Several laboratories detected the variant last week, and it has been named BA.2.86. Although the lineage seems to be exceedingly rare, it is very different from other circulating variants and carries numerous changes to its spike protein, a key focus of the body’s immune attack on the SARS-CoV-2 virus. To many scientists, the emergence of BA.2.86 is reminiscent of the early days of the Omicron variant in late 2021, when scientists in southern Africa noticed a weird-looking lineage that quickly went global. “There’s a little bit of déjà vu all over again,” says Adam Lauring, a virologist and infectious-disease physician at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, whose lab identified one person infected with BA.2.86. Successive COVID-19 waves and booster vaccine roll-outs mean global immunity to SARS-CoV-2 is higher and broader than ever, and most scientists do not expect BA.2.86 to have the same impact as Omicron’s arrival. “There’s good reason to think it won’t be like the Omicron wave, but it’s early days,” Lauring adds.

Will the CDC repeat its gross incompetence as before? But we must remember:

1. The vaccine at best reduces an infection, it does not prevent one

2. The vaccine does NOT prevent transmission.

3. We still are clueless as to the transmission means

4. Face masks have been demonstrated to be of limited value

5. Monitoring infection rates is still grossly inadequate

6. Another hit on the economy would be devastating!

7. Our leaders are no way equipped to handle this.

Communicating?

 I have noticed that amongst the 30 and under generation that their communicating skills are non-existent. To express a simple thought they will insist on telling you everything they know and rattle on in such a manner as to be incomprehensible. Further is one needs a small amount of clarification then one cannot interrupt the stream of unending verbiage. There is no feedback to assess if the receiver is getting the message. They just blabber forth whatever they personally think, if thinking is even occurring.
