What Unemployment Rate?

We always like to double check the stats from another perspective and in so doing we come up with a much higher rate, almost 13%. What we did is assume that the employment population, namely those seeking or having jobs remains a constant percent of the population as it was in June 2006 for example. Then we determine how it has grown with population growth. Then we take the actual employment numbers and use the ratio of actual employed to the total base as if it were a growing number at the same percent of total population in 2006. The results are above.

Clearly DoL manipulates these numbers in the best interest of the Administration.
