Ginkgo and Hiroshima
Seventy five years ago the first nuclear weapon was dropped on Hiroshima. Four trees survived the blast, all ginkgos. Some of their offspring grew at the NY Botanical Garden. Seeds from them I took some thirty plus years ago and today have more than a dozen adults and from them, dozens of new ginkgo seedling, grown each year.
