What Has Happened with Amazon?

 Over the past year almost 20% of my Amazon purchases are lost, permanently delayed, misplaced or failed to have been ordered. Mostly books, and it adds up. Their system appears to be decaying in performance and it seems no one cares. I end up going directly to the publisher even if it costs more and take longer. When Amazon is NEVER, "longer" no longer counts.
