NJ Data Dead!

 As the NJ site notes:

September 13, 12pm: We are experiencing technical difficulties uploading today's county level data to the cloud-based service that powers our data dashboard. Dashboard indicators that rely on county-level data may not display correctly. We hope to restore normal operation this afternoon.

Six hours later it is still dead in the water. As the NY Times noted about Texas:

Delays, discrepancies and abrupt leaps in coronavirus case and death counts in Texas have baffled residents and frustrated local officials.

This has been a pandemic problem since day one. Fundamentally, Government officials have major handicaps in functioning. Thus is they seem to consistently mess this up, wait till the election and massive mail in screw up. Ballots will be arriving decades late! Watch!

NJ 2020 09 12

 Here we go again:

The above depict the constant low level infections. There seems to be no explanation, so much for Contact Tracing.
Prevalence is low but it exists. County is half the state.

Tow still has elevated prevalence due to the earlier spikes most likely unfettered teenagers.

The Beginning

On February 4, 2020 I wrote a piece on the Corona virus calling it a Pandemic. Now that meant I was aware of this for a week or more and that it was in the medical and public media. No surprise. So there was no secret, no keeping it under wraps. What were all the other folks doing, like those responsible at State and Federal Public Health facilities?

Some blips but otherwise just a simmering low level infection.

Science in New Jersey

The Gov just issued the following commands regarding indoor dining:

Indoor Dining/Bars 25% capacity

  • Masks must be worn even while seated at your table and can only be removed while eating or drinking.
  • Masks must be worn at your table after the consumption of food or beverage has been completed.
  • You can only be served food/beverage while seated at a table or bar.
  • Tables must be six feet apart in all directions.
  • Smoking where allowable by law can resume at both indoor and outdoor dining/bar areas.

I get the point but what is the scientific basis for any of the above? I have been through some 2500+papers and cannot find a single reference that substantiates these numbers or actions. You can smoke but it seems you may have an issue with chewing.

Oh well, this too shall pass. I still have no idea where they get the Rt numbers but they seem to have gone by the wayside.
