"Science" and "Facts"

For those of you who may passed by this site from time to time you see we have highly detailed analysis of the NJ COVID-19 stats.

Now the Hill notes:

"There's no question that face coverings are game changers. I think we were the first state in America to require them indoors; they've been strongly recommended out of doors. We're going to turn that up a notch today and say we're going to ask you if you can't socially distance then it’s going to be required," Murphy told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” New Jersey was an early hotspot for the virus along with New York, but despite a recent decline in case its infection rate hit a 10-week high this week, according to NBC New York. New Jersey has required masks indoors since April. Murphy conceded the new mandate would be “hard to enforce,” particularly in heavily trafficked areas like the Jersey Shore, but said rising cases in other states had forced his hand. He cited the peak of the state’s coronavirus outbreak in April and said New Jersey “can’t go through that hell again.”

Now the FACTS are that the truth is that the infection rate has been flat! The 10 week high is total bald-face nonsense. Unfortunately it is news like this and decisions like the Govs, namely you must wear a mask outside but no one will, is what insures total lack of trust in any Government official or news source.

Now Executivew Order 163 states in part:

When it is not practicable for individuals in outdoor public spaces to socially distance and keep a six-foot distance from others, excluding immediate family members, caretakers, household members, or romantic partners, consistent with Paragraph 3 of Executive Order No. 107 (2020), all individuals shall wear face coverings.

Now one should try and interpret that phrase. What is praticable to one may not be to another. Who decides practicable? It continues:

The requirement in Paragraph 1 of this Order shall not apply in situations where individuals cannot feasibly wear a face covering, such as when individuals are eating or drinking at outdoor dining areas, or when individuals need to briefly remove their face coverings for religious reasons. In addition, for purposes of Paragraph 1 of this Order, “outdoor public spaces” do not include child care centers, other child care facilities, and youth summer camps..

Finally:

Penalties for violations of this Order may be imposed under, among other statutes, N.J.S.A. App. A:9-49 and -50.

Now this is not a law it is a dictum from on high. But one must ask, what is the scientific basis for this? Must I mask up when upon my bike exercising, if so what is the determinant? Bad laws, and this is not a law, but bad laws are laws that cannt be readily interpreted. The punishment is undefined, may it become a capital crime? Nonsense laws, dicta, mandates, Royal Pronumcement, Papal statements and the like should be carefully stated and communicated. This is not.
