Three weeks ago I noted here that West Virginia was smashing ahead in an efficient and effective manner in distributing the vaccine. Finally the brains at the NY Times were made aware! The Times notes:
As many states struggle with logistical and bureaucratic challenges, leaving vaccines unused, West Virginia offers a remarkable example of a state that has successfully given out almost all of its shots. Yet it provides perhaps the clearest picture of a more fundamental problem that looms ahead for the country: Even the most efficient state vaccine operations do not have enough shots for all who want them.
The reason to me is simple. No Harvard MBAs or Goldman cronies. The grossly inept characters in Trenton continue on their path to the River Styx. Cerberus awaits folks, and it is not a kindly pet. In WV they had to keep it simple. Simple works. Not like The Banker and Nurse Ratchet here in NJ who are more interested in getting re-elected, than in being effective.
