My family in West Virginia is all vaccinated as of today. Teachers, lawyers, older folks, all done. Now for New Jersey they list the upcoming batch as:
Individuals at High Risk (Phase 1B)
Individuals aged 65 and older, and individuals ages 16-64 with medical conditions, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that increase the risk of severe illness from the virus. These conditions include:
- Cancer
- Chronic kidney disease
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Down Syndrome
- Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
- Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 kg/m2 or higher but < 40 kg/m2)
- Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2)
- Sickle cell disease
- Smoking
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Now there are about 3 million or more smokers in NJ. In addition how does one prove they are a smoker. Obese, I get it, Sickle I can see, Down, COPD, fairly easy, but smokers? In fact how do you tell about type 2 diabetes, HbA1c >7?, and cancer, just how can one tell.
Over 65, I get it, on your drivers license.
This is clearly the most incompetently run operation I have ever seen! The Banker and Nurse Ratchet have created total chaos. Why can a poor state like West Virginia manage to have dealt with all over 70, teachers. Medical, Public Safety, in less than a month!
Given the list we expect to have 3 million smokers, many with co-morbidities, lining up with health 75 year olds with massive cross contamination in the massive auditorium on the mountain.
I wonder how many family friends, business associates etc have leapt to the front of the line? I also wonder where they hid the prison inmates on the previous list. Most likely already vaccinated. In my opinion this is what happens when you get incompetents in charge who have never held real jobs doing something.
West Virginia is looking better every day.
