The NY Times announced the appointment of Eric Lander as the Cabinet Level Science Adviser. He is a fantastic choice and may have the potential to infuse broad based credibility and confidence and a shipwrecked function. Eric is an engineer by initial training and admittedly wandered into biotech. He was a key player in the human genome project and one of the best instructors I have ever seen. He introduce me to CRISPRS just as they were coming out, a brief side comment once and that was enough. If Eric said they were of interest then follow the yellow brick road. Congratulations and hopefully he avoids the slews and arrows of DC.
