Who should get the vaccine first? I saw some folks on CNBC talking about who should get the vaccine first. The New Reader, a chubby middle aged character, said he did not wait for 75 year olds to get it, they can stay home. After-all he noted, based one would guess upon his wisdom, that younger folks like him should get it so they cannot spread it anymore. Then, amazingly, the TV doc agreed with him.
I know science has gone by the wayside, but the vaccine prevent the vaccinated person from not getting ill. It does NOT prevent them from being a carrier and spreading. The virus remains dormant but readily spreadable.
Now the logic is:
1. The middle age guy, I guess he has some value to humanity but I leave that to the TV station, has a better immune system and can live most likely.
2. However if given the vaccine he can still be a Typhoid Mary spreader and guessing from his attitude, a super spreader
3. The old 75+ year olds have dramatically higher mortality and are not spreaders.
4. If we value life anywhere, which unfortunately it seems we no longer do, but stay with my assumption, we give it to the older folks.
5. Result, we keep more people alive and reduce the spread.
Damn those facts. Now back to CNBC!
